Marsa Shagra

Oonasdivers has teamed with Wenche Beard (pronounced Venka) who launched her own dedicated yoga studio last year, located in the South East of England where she teaches daily and runs a variety of workshops and events. Wenche can offer you a unique experience and opportunity of Yoga in an amazing location, Marsa Shagra, based in the Southern Egyptian coast near Marsa
Alam. Marsa Shagra is renowned for it's world class diving, bringing you the perfect harmony.

Wenche shows great love and compassion to the people she works with thus creating a calm and safe environment for healing. Her aim through yoga and other practices is to help us find our self love and acceptance thus bringing us back to who we really are. Wenche has been practising yoga for the last ten years and been teaching for almost 7 years now and has never looked back. She combines her love of teaching yoga with meditation and conscious breath work.

“For me it is important to feel the yoga, through breath, body awareness and meditation - becoming one with oneself, starting to like oneself, accept and love who you are. It is about letting go of what we no longer need, allowing room for new, positive and exiting adventures in our lives.

So, instead of doing yoga - feel your yoga! It feels so wonderful, so freeing, a beautiful experience. Sometimes resistance comes up, but as soon as surrender happens, the flower unfolds and you can smell the sent of the blossom.

When we open our body, mind and emotions in our asana (postures) and breath, we become receptive to a wonderful and often overwhelming experience of inner peace....

Through your yoga we aim to create union of body, mind and spirit through yoga asanas, breath and meditation to reach a wholeness of oneself.

I don't know how it is with you, but for me, my yoga practice is the time I claim for me in the busyness of the life I live. Life can be a juggling act, but through 'time out' enjoying my yoga I find out how I am really doing right now..and when I reach myself in this way I feel I can live a freer life, just how I am, without the facade we paint upon our self...I set myself free...free to fly!”

Swapping the yoga mat in the studio with the back drop of Marsa Shagra can only improve the connection with your body, mind and spirit. This relaxing environment is the perfect destination and you can even combine these new Yoga experiences with some mind blowing diving.

For a diver, the essential elements of yoga can significantly reduce your likelihood of injury. Specific exercises can improve core stability, working on the lower back to protect it from trauma of twin sets and weight belts. Targeting the legs and hips can improve your fining technique, stamina and your general fitness, improving your flexibility and making diving a whole lot easier, especially for wreck and cave diving.

For those who want to slow down on their gas consumption, the breathing exercises fundamental in yoga are also ideal for improving lung capacity and encouraging effective, steady breathing and ultimately extend bottom your time.

We invite you to set yourself free..to dive deeper within yourself...and find all of the hidden treasures you hold...to set yourself free from your own expectation and other peoples expectation of you....to see the sparkle that shines within your very centre and let it shine outwards and touch every single person that you come in contact with, even if they don't notice it...I invite you to dive into your inner landscape, and enjoy the journey of Yoga... to set yourself free and fly......
