Martin
Ward - Tai Chi
Martin has studied tai chi for ten years now, taught
by internationally known teacher Simon Robins. He
has also spent three years training in Person Centred Counselling.
Having spent many years of struggle, seeing life as a running battle
to concour, Martin was drawn to tai chi with it's
soft movements and gentle philosophy of going with the flow. His passion
stems from the changes he's seen emerge in himself.
The style he teaches is the Cheng Man C'hing form
of tai chi, and this includes chigung, standing meditation
and form work. Classes start with basic alignment of the posture before
progressing to movements within the form.
Tai chi can be described as a moving meditation.
It soothes and calms the mind, and profoundly relaxes the body, and
as we explore our mind/body connections our awareness increases, and
we become increasingly tuned in with the present moment, more able
to savour it's joys. It also has positive effects on a range of health
issues including; arthritis, depression, balence, back pain, knee
problems, posture, healthy breathing, a strengthened immune system
and increased energy. tai chi
helps balence the whole system; physically, mentally, emotionally,
and as we begin to feel better this spreads into all walks of life
be it work or play. Tai chi brings people ALIVE.
Through our practice we become more open to the call of our inner
voice urging us to become all of who we truelly are, more able to
listen to our needs, more embracing of the joy and adventure of being
alive, And as we stop trying to be what we think we should be,...and
just be, this growing sence of peace begins to ripple outwards into
our relationships to.
